These recycled blankets are designed by award-winning Australian design duo, Rina Bernabei and Kelly Freeman of bernabeifreeman. Each carefully crafted blanket is constructed from a blend of super-soft Tasmanian wool and natural fibres. Each throw is brushed to give it an even softer feel.
Each recycled blanket is made from natural unused fibre, offcuts and seconds blankets from the Waverley Mills factory floor. Fibres are then shredded, spun and blended. The colour specs in the yarn are a feature of the recycled materials used.
Waverley Mills is Australia’s oldest working textile mill, established in 1874 and situated on the idyllic banks of Distillery Creek in Launceston. Crafted in Tasmania and proudly Australian owned and made to last.
